Halong Bay, Vietnam

We drove 4 hours from Hanoi to a town near Halong Bay to stay for the night. We stayed at a really beautiful hotel,  the Royal Lotus Hotel, in a quiet area. The streets are very wide and there was barely any traffic. The new shops were unoccupied. It seem like a ghost town.

Halong Bay was pretty but not as beautiful as I thought it would be. I've seen more beauty in Alaska. Regardless, I would still go see it.

Afterwards, we stopped by at a place that sold beautiful embroideries created by workers who are victims of agent orange. The embroideries are beautiful. The embroideries are made with cotton or silk threads and can take up to 3 months to complete. I purchased one because it was so beautiful.
