Turkey's Magnificent Blue Mosque

Enjoyed a cold day at the Blue Mosque in Istanbul.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Istanbul at 4 in the morning

Woke up 2 am and couldn't sleep at 4 am. B and I walked the city streets. It was 4C, very cold for us. Surprisingly, the streets were busy and were filled with young men and woman going home after a night of dancing Friday night. Most shops were closed with the exception of mom and pop convenience stores.

 

 

Turkey - Istanbul

Finally arrived in rainy Turkey at 2 pm Turkish time. Weather is the same as Vancouver, BC this time of year. It was cold, rainy and 7C. Interesting sounds and smells in Turkey. Enjoyed a traditional Turkish dinner at Kebap House. The food was really good. It started with a lentil soup, some welcome bread, goat cheese spring rolls (my favorite), pizza like flat bread with minced meat and lamb kebabs. Dessert tasted like a sugar soaked pastry, much like Indian sweets but not as sweet. Delicious.
