After 1.5 days of travelling from Vancouver, we arrived in Phnom Penh via
Guangdong at 11:00pm. When we arrived at the airport entrance, there was
chaos at the entrance due to all the passengers’ confusion. We could not
proceed without filling out more paper. Looking like a Khmer, they
assumed I understood Khmer. Then they saw Brian and spoke to him in
English. Turns out they wanted to know about any health issues we may
have due to the rapid spread of Ebola in the world.
When we finally at our hotel, it was 12am. We were so tired and told we will need to wake up at 6 am to prepare for our tour of Phnom Penh
city and travel to Siem Reap. Tomorrow will be the start of the conntry's 3-day New
Year’s celebration. The city will be somewhat empty tomorrow due to the
families having already returning to the countryside to see their families.
BG snoozing whenever he can. At Guangdong Airport.
Juliana Hotel in Phnom Penh. Comfortable, clean, what more can you ask for! Actually I really hate these windows with views of the bathroom in hotels. Too trendy and unpractical. How can anyone do anything private or go to the washroom without lighting up the bedroom during the night?
