Goreme - Cave Churches

Goreme is a little village set amid the surreal Cappadocia landscape.

We visited the Goreme Open Air Museum in the Goreme National Park and is a protected UNESCO World Heritage Site. The park houses 10th and 11th century cave churches. Early Christians escaped the persecution of the Romans by hiding in the intricate network of caves. Stars Wars and Ghost Rider were filmed here.

We also visited the one family that still lives in the cave house.
